Calm waters

Perfection in sunsets, calm mirrored waters.
Your head on my arm as you quietly slumber
The lightest of touches, delicate kisses
Life made of love for two souls that are true

Croissant and coffee, crumbs and caresses
Comfort and courage, compassion and hope
Peace while we're silent, thoughtful narrations
Discussions of nothing and everything too

Food on the cooker, momos and thukpa
The most profound love and harmonious sleep
My lady, my life-mate, my bedrock, my lover
My one, true and only. My day to day YOU

An old man died tonight

I did not know him well. He didn't speak much, though the few words he spoke were gentle. He kept himself very much to himself. His name was Peter and apart from that, and that he had a daughter and a wife I know little of him. He was in my ward, the bed diagonally opposite, only close enough for shouted conversations which were not his style.

His last day was spent in much pain, his relatives beside him, the ward quiet apart from his stifled whimpers of agony and the occasionally whispered "Why me?". I could not answer him, save to say "I don't know the answer, Peter".

We were not friends but I miss him.

Where you have gone, there is no more pain.

Rest in peace

Distance

No matter when
Any time where
I am with you bebe
Right here, in my heart

I close my eyes and see you
In my waking, in my dreaming,
Just behind my eyelids,
In sight if not in reach

Sits your smile
